Now that I have rebased some of my figures, I needed to play test to see if the new basing would give the stability I was looking for! I pulled a bridge scenario from the rule book and set up the terrain to match. I also used all the British and French regulars I just finished basing, along with some militia.

The table was set up with a river down the middle. It was only crossable at the bridge in the center. Both sides had eighteen points and would get victory points for taking the bridge. In addition, the usual taking and causing casualties.

The French would start with one unit holding the front of the bridge, with the rest of their force entering on. The British would be the attacker and would have to take the bridge and start with all their forces at the base of the board and they would get the first turn.

The British decided to take a cautious approach and maneuver forward slowly and try to shoot of the forward French forces. The French in turn decided to rush forward to mass around the bride.

The British took the worst of the fire and decided just to charge the bridge. The initial attempts had some effect, but were pushed back by the French.

The British were finally able to break into the defense position and clear out some of the French, but also had no luck in the end, with the French taking out the attack. The British used their shooting to clear out the final French defenders and the road was open!

The British Grenadiers (rather shot up) were the last reserve and ran forward to the bridge to take the redoubt! However, the last French company moved up and were able to contest the bridge and hold the car side. With the bridge contested, it was down to casualties. The British took it on the chin, loosing almost all their forces. The French still have half their forces and managed to squeak out the win!
