I have slowly been collecting terrain to do a Naboo style terrain layout for playing Star Wars Legion. The photo on the Legion Terrain website shows two large statues, mixed in with the layout. Unfortunately, they do not offer those mixtures. However, it gave me an idea!

I decided to go shopping around my FLGS and came across a storm giant model from Reaper Bones. It was cheap and it was big, so I grabbed it! I think it makes a good Zeus looking figure, so would fit the bill. I also had a couple of plastic trays that came with airplane models from FOW and figured one would make a nice plinth. I had my parts and was not out a lot of cash either.

I sprayed the base gray and the figures brown. It ended up in my pile of shame box in storage and was dug out with a lot of other partial projects I am trying to knock out. I pulled it out and got to work on it.

I added a black wash to the gray base and spray panted the figure from the top with some bronze paint. The base then got a wet brush of concrete gray and then some highlights and edge dry brushing of a lighter shade of gray (just added a little white to the gray). That finished the base.

Back to the figure, I wanted an aged look. I pulled out the GW bronze aging technical paint and covered the figure. After the dryer, I felt it was a bit on the bright side… So, I hit the entire figure with Agrax Earthshade to darken and dirty it up a bit. I finished off with a light spot drybrush of brass on the figure.

I glued the model to the base with shite glue and hit the entire model with some Krylon dull coat (for a satin look). With that, I have a large statue I can use on my different game boards. At some point, I need to actually work on the Naboo buildings that got this project started!
