With my basing method figured out, I went to work on the next batch of units for my Mexican army. Those were two cavalry units and some generals. All are straight out of the packs from Gajo. The only addition was the standard for the lancers.

So, I followed the same basing method using the Muddy Paw basing. This was followed by adding some spots of flock to break up the basing for a Southwest feel.

Unfortunately, the only cavalry straight out of the box from Gajo were the Jalisco Lancers and Tulacingo Cuirassiers. These are rather special units and somewhat limited in their use to a few battles. However, it is nice to have them. I have more cavalry, but those units will take some painting work and I am not quite ready for that kind of detail painting quite yet!

Next are the commanders. These are straight from Gajo and covers all the poses for the Mexicans. I am going with round bases for these, as it makes it easier to identify commanders on the tabletop. I am probably going to continue to replicate round bases for generals wherever I can. With these done, I can now work on some infantry!
