I was in Home Depot looking for some items for a home repair project and decided to stop by the plumbing isle to see if I could find a PVC drain cover I could use for some terrain. I found what I was looking for, but then came across another pipe cover that was even better! The price was right, so I picked up three.

I liked that there are about five inches high, so would be good cover. I was just going to use them as is, but adjusted my thinking once I got them home. First, I needed to shave off some of the English text. Since the part is softish plastic, that just took a short bit of work with and Xacto and file.

Next, I did not like the top section, because of the text and shape, so I just grabbed three 25mm plastic bases and glued them to the top. I then got the idea that I could use three 75mm round bases I had in my base bag as some type of power look…..

I sprayed the bases dark green and once that dried, I worked my way toward the center with lighter shades of green.

I sprayed the filter with some medium gray primer. Since the filter was black, I just did a bit of zenith highlight spraying for the shading. Once that dried, I just drub brushed the edges with a lighter shade of gray.
I could glue the discs inside, but it is easier to stack the models for storage and just put them down when I set up, so I am going to leave them separate.

About and hour and a half of work and I have three pieces of medium sized blocking terrain, for not much money spent!
