So, when I bought the Legion card sets for my armies , I did not realize there was a separate set for common upgrades. It did not come up at my FLGS. Well, when I started looking at the unit decks, I noticed that there were no generic upgrades, so something had to be done. I then went online and saw there was indeed another deck. Unfortunately, they were out of stock from the online retailers and my FLGS could not get them. Disaster!

Well, I was out of town last weekend and stopped by a local hobby shop. I found they had two set on the shelf, so I grabbed one (probably should have bought both). The set is of the same quality as all the other sets.

The set starts with a single set of generic command cards for all armies. This makes this as kind of a must buy, unless you only use specific commander cards. These cards only give activations with no other effects, so in reality, you are better off with the character cards. The four pip may be an issue with those builds though, so the player needs to assess.

The meat of the set are, of course, the unit upgrade cards. Here you find all the generic upgrades. The graphics are not to my taste (see comments in other reviews), but they get the job done functionally. The mix of multiples is somewhat odd to me, but I am not a competitive Legion player, so may just be missing the subtlety. The upgrades that are obviously heavy support focused are singles, with most of the units and characters being doubles. The training upgrade cards are all over the map!
I personally would have preferred that they included these in the unit decks. However, this approach will save players money, as they can just get enough upgrade cards a share them across armies as needed. So either approach makes sense, depending on your perspective. I will try to pick up a second set the next time I see them available, just to get coverage. Now that I have all my new card sets, I need to go back and pull all my old cards and get everything organized to actually play!
