I needed a little distraction from all my ongoing basing projects, so grabbed a few Total Battle Miniatures 6mm buildings I had that were partially painted and finished them up. The buildings are from the big battalions Western European line. All are resin and nicely caste. Nice to get something else off my painting table!

I went with a number of washes for shading and a bit of dry brushing (mostly on the roofs). I hit all the windows with contrast black paint, as it flows better than regular paint to fill in the small areas. I used contrast dark brown for all the timber, so there would be some shading in one step. A little contrast brown and green for a little character. For the detail painting, I grabbed an Army Painter brown pen to do all the timber work. I used an AK white paint pen for the other trim and stone work. After using these, I think paint pens will be a staple for me when working on smaller buildings!

A little Krylon dull coat spray and these are ready to go!
