IHMN-2, Into the Land of the Lost.

Posted on August 19, 2026

Old legends of Spanish conquistadors telling tails of a valley deep in the Andes where large golden eggs can be found throughout an ancient primordial forest have passed through the remote villages of eastern Peru have persisted for ages. Always thought just to be exaggerated stories, like so many others. That was until the appearance of a large golden egg in the national museum. With this evidence, the government has contrasted with foreign military forces to scout out the fabled land and come back with proof. Payment would be any eggs the teams could carry with them. Both German and US forces took up the challenge. Who would get their first and be able to put the name of their country on this unknown land?

I had a couple of buddies stop by my house and decided to run a quick pulp game. I let them pick their adventuring teams and they both chose military squads. With the sides set, I put out some woods and objectives for the players to try to collect the most eggs. Who ever could get the most off the table would win!

Each model could carry up to three eggs. One would have no impact. Two would stop the model from fight or shooting (unless they put it down) and three would mean the model could not run. If the model was in a fight, the egg would be broken on a 6+. If the figure went down, they would drop whatever eggs they had.

The models would have to do a pluck test next to an objective marker (the skulls). On a ten, a carnivorous dinosaur would appear. On a six through nine, a herbivore would appear and on a one through five D3 eggs would be found.

In addition, points would be awarded if an enemy hero was taken out (model with the heroic trait). Both sides set up on their side of the table and the woods was in the middle to separate the forces.

Both players got to it right away, heading to the closest markers. Unfortunately, the marines immediately found a T-Rex! While the rest of the force looked for more eggs, the rest of the marines engaged the beast (marines never run away!). It took a while (and a couple of troopers), but they managed to take down the beat.

The Germans started out a little better off, finding a number of eggs, but only in singles. As they went deeper into the forest, their luck ran out and they managed to awaken a heard of brachiosauruses. Normally, this would not be a problem, but it seems they were not fans of having their eggs stollen! Just when they thought they had enough problems, a pair of Triceratops appeared with the same agenda!

The marauding herbivores were too much for the Germans, so they left the field with only two eggs. The marines managed to get out with eight and all got new pairs of T-rex sin boots too!
