When Battlefront did their Pacific release last year, they also released a number of terrain sets through GF9. I say released, but these are just re-released from the last time they did the Pacific! In any case, I did not really need any of the new stuff, as I either already had what I wanted or did not want what they had!
In the latter category were the Jungle Bushes set. These seemed a bit pricey to me, for was just some aquarium plants on a GF9 base. So, I never got them. Well, I came across a set marked down 50%, so I figured that was cheap enough, at least for the bases!
I did not like the bushes they provided for the purpose (I will use them for something else, at some point). However, I have a half dozen squares of some other plants that I found on sale at Michaels some time back. I decided to pull out a sheet and use those instead.
First, I removed all the bushes from the bases. I then drybrushed up the bases, as they were way too brown. I then hit them with some turf to hide the edges and give a more growth look. I then clicked in the new bushes on the mounting pegs. Unfortunately, that di don’t go perfectly and I managed to break a few along the way…..
Once I had attached all the bushes, I went back and added some tufts to cover up the brown pegs. I also added a few extra to the bases, just to break things up. I stuffed a couple of extra bushes in between to thicken things up. With that, I have some jungle tree bases that I think will work for FOW or as bushes for Pulp! Best of all, I did not pay too much!
