Last year, I went to Cold Wars for my usual convention fix. Overall, I was very disappointed in the convention. However, I did come away with a stash of painted F&I figures from Big Battalions. These included a large number of Native Americans and some rangers. I already had a good number of Galloping Major figures to ally with my French, but I did not have any for my British. So, these were a good get.

I was very happy with the paint job and I thought the price was fair. I got these home and saw they were smaller than I realized, compared to my existing troops. However, as it was its own force, that is fine. Once I really got going with my rebasing, I would have to do these guys to match. They came on 25mm round plastic bases, so they had the same stability problems, just not as acute for a smaller figure.

I needed a leader figure to go with the force. So, I dug out a Redoubt canoe crew figure I had and painted it up to lead the force. It sized well, so I think that worked out too!

I did the same basing. thirty millimeter metal washer with some pumice, a few dry brushes, flock and tufts. I’m not the final leg, I just have one more unit to do!
