As part of my painted miniatures purchase at Cold Wars were a dozen ranger models. These were painted as Dunn’s rangers. This was the same unit that I already had, so I figured a few more could not hurt… Well, when I got them home and compared them, the sizing and style were completely different! Sooo, it turned out that I bought myself into a problem!

Well, these guys sat on the shelf since last year, until I could decide what I would want to do. Once I got going rebasing all my troops, the units I bought last year came up for work and with them the rangers. I could not use them as Dunn’s rangers, so I had to figure out what I would do. Going through the various units, I opted for Stark’s Massachusetts Rangers and their early uniform (well, not really uniformed…).

Once they came up in the cycle, I glued them to their new bases and got the paints out. First I repainted all the figures that had green vests. I changed those to brown or blue. All the figures were done in gray shirts and coats. It was common for these guys, so I just needed to change a few to give a less uniform look. I opted to change a few blue, with red facings and others brown. I also changed a bonnet to blue and a soft cap to red. I then changed a few feathers to white. With that, I think these guys will work!

I finished up with the same basing as everything else. Pumice drybrushed up with some flocking and tufts. With these done, I have finally finished my collection!
