I got a bit enamored with the War of 1812 over the summer and ran a few Valour and Fortitude games, with one of my buddies providing the troops. Along the way, I decided I needed my own forces for the period. With that said, I was in no mood to paint up all those minis! So, I turned to my go to company Gajo and started ordering from their line of painted troops to fill out my needs.

The first group I finished up was the standard 1812 infantry in blue coats. I opted for units of six stand (four figures each), as this works well for the rules and gives me flexibility for other rule options in the future. The figures are just fine as is. I just needed to base them up on some white metal bases and add some flags (GMB). I opted to go with the Naps Bats basing option, as this is how all my Brits are based and they would match up on the tabletop.

A little paint and flock on the bases and sealing everything in with some Dull Coat spray and they were ready to go. I pulled out a couple of Shogun bases that I use as magnetic trays to try out. They worked out well in the last game, so I will be getting more of those to fill out the army in the future.
