I was looking for some figures on Ebay and came across some GW Dwarves Minor models. These were already painted and had a good price. I could tell from the photos that the figures needed some work. Mostly due to a lack of some shading and being rather banged up. However, the price was right (cheaper than buying new unpainted figures), so I picked them up.

The figures arrived a week later and looking at them in person, they were actually painted a bit better than I thought, just a lot of chipping. My update painting work would be easier than I expected! I started by scraping off the base flocking and glueing base converters to the existing bases to get them to the right size for the Old World.

I started by adding red and dark gray to a number of the figures to tie them better with my existing troops. I then hit various areas with black or brown pin washes to shade them a bit. Once that all dried, I did highlighting on areas that needed them and painted out some of the chipped paint with the highlights. Things like the beards and weapons were drybrushed.

I then worked on the basing, by adding brown mud pumice to the bases and later dry brushing them up. A little flock ad some flower tufts and the figures were resurrected! With that, I now have two small units of Dwarf Miners for my Dwarves Mountain Holds Army!
