I needed four units of Ninjas for my Warmaster Nippon army. I started with some Eureka 10mm monks as a start. These only had three poses that did not quite jell with one another. I decided to order some Pendraken Ninjas.

The figures arrived and I found they are smaller than the Eureka figures, so I would not be able to mix them. Even though the monks are already painted, I can just use these on my Ronin bases, when I get to those units (they size well with Wargames Atlantic).

The Ninja set also has only three poses. I wanted six figures per base and did not want doubles of everything. Unfortunately, I ordered a bag on Samurai with swords at the same time, so I pulled out a few of those and painted them at the same time. Between facing the figures in different directions and mixing in a Samurai, I got an effect I was happy with.

These were a quick paint job, as they are all dressed in black with black face coverings. So, I sprayed them with very dark gray, hit them with a gray highlight and then hit that with a black wash. I then hit the heads with flesh and ropes with tan. Those got a brown wash. I mounted them on bases and affixed my flock mix.

Once the glue dried, I hit all the bases with dull coat spray. Once that set, I painted all the weapons silver. With that, I have my four units of Ninjas! I will take a short break to work on some basing projects, but then get back to the rest of my Nippon troops. I still have sixteen units to finish !
