While attending Historicon, I went to the Diabolical Terrain booth. They often have bins of marked down items and this year was not exception. I already have some of their stuff for Legion and liked some of the additional stuff I saw and picked it up!
There were three types of pieces I liked and did not already have. Some large hex shaped shipping boxes, some small canisters and a medium sized power tower. I thought the first two would work on most of my tables and the last for my space port board.

The larger models are PLA and the canisters are resin prints. The PLA print quality is very good, with only minor imperfections. The resin is perfectly clean. Some minor cleanup is necessary, as you get the extra strand of PLA here and there. However, nothing a few seconds of Xacto work and this was done. The hex bins had a bit heavier effects, that would be problematic to remove, so I did leave those.
I sprayed the hex bins gray and hit them with a gray wash and then drybrushed them up. I sprayed the canisters in tan and then painted them green contrast and then wet brushed them with a lighter shade. I added a few colors to the caps and labels, just to break things up.

The power towers were a bit more of a challenge. I sprayed them white and then hit them with a yellow contrast paint. Well, I thought it was yellow… It turned out more of a yellowish brown…. I still wanted to work up yellow, so I hit them with a yellow ochre military paint wet brush to get a base coat. I then went over all this with a yellow wet brush to get the effect I wanted. I finished with a lighter yellow drybrush. These had control panels, so I painted those black and added red, blue, white and green buttons. I painted the screens dark green and hit them with a white dot.

I sprayed all the models with Krylon mat finish spray to give a bit of a satin finish. I went back and hit the power tower screens with gloss paint. With that, these are knocked out and probably finish the last of the scatter terrain I need for Legion. If you are looking for some inexpensive since looking scatter items, Diabolical is worth checking out.
