I have a buddy of mine that makes wire trees for 28mm. I have a large number of them and use them in most of my F&I skirmish games. When playing my games, I realized that I had a good number of really tall trees, but only a few of the lower ones.
Fortunately for me, my buddy was coming into town, on his was to Historicon. Well, that was an opportunity! I asked him to make a few more smaller ones for me and he agreed (it’s good to have friends).
He flew in and brought me my new trees. I asked him not to use them, as I wanted to finish them to match my existing ones.
After everything settled down, I pulled out the trees and pumiced them up with dark mud. I let that dry and drybrushed them with medium brown and then tan. I added some flock to the base and sealed everyone in with some cheap Krylon spray to seal everything in.
I think this should wrap up all my 28mm skirmish tree needs, for now. These will being showing up in my next Rebels and Patriots game!
