I finished up my British Napoleonic army a little while ago and decided to expand into the War of 1812 and get some double use out of the army. Well, I could not do the War of 1812 without some Canadians to fill out the forces!

So, back I went to Gajo to pick up a few more units before they sell off their stock. I went with some of their British Napoleonic line to get what I was looking for. As the Canadians just wore British uniforms, it was an easy purchase. I wanted a few units for uniformed, uniformed standing militia and light units.

I also dug out a few very old minis I had for British marines and painted those up. As I had a good number of uninformed militia for the Americans, I just did command stands for the Canadians, so I could switch them out as needed.

The British rifles works for the Glengarry Light Infantry and the regulars worked for everything else. I also wanted some Native American units to fill out some of the battle OOBs. These arrived and I went to work.

I only made some minor changes to some of the units to make them stand out. That was mostly adjusting some trowser colors and pom pom colors. I then attached them to bases and flocked them like my existing British. The flags all came from Vaubanner. A little dull coat and this would enable me to run most of the fights in the north. Now, I just need an opponent….
