I picked up a painted Ottoman army recently. I think it might be a resell of Old Guard Painting service troops…. In any case, I needed a small Turkish force to fill out Orders of Battle for the Crimean War. As such, I was happy to come across them. I may need a few more cavalry to fill out the BBB scenarios, but maybe not… We shall see…

I did not have to do any work on the models, just base them up. I used my normal magnetic basing from Shogun Miniatures, that all my other same period troops are mounted to. Just needed a little white glue to attach them to the bases that I sprayed brown. I found some small Turkish flags in my collection (no idea where I got them from) and attached them with white glue and water.

I kept the flocking simple with just using Woodland Scenics mixed turf affixed with some Howard Hues Geohex Green paint. I fished up with a matt sealer from Tamiya to wrap things up.

Loving these: club mates want me to upgrade my Renaissance Ottomans to 7 years war? I am tempted; great looking troops!
I was trying the same with my 17th century Ottomans, but finally decided to base mine to match my pike and shot europeans.
