I was on eBay looking for some stuff and I came across some sales of old Mikes Models Janissaries. They were cheap and I wanted a few more to thicken my Ottoman army elite infantry a bit. The paint job did not look great, but my army kind of does not either… So they would fit in!
I made some offers to the seller and ordered them. They arrived after a few weeks and I looked them over. They were a little rougher than I thought and mounted on wood bases. It took a while to get them off the bases and remove the ballast, but what else you are you going to do while watching TV!
I decided to hit the figures with some highlights to brighten up the colors and left it at that. I blued them to my standard 40mm bases and based them like my other troops. With that they will fit in fine. Having different weapons will help, so I can have different quality levels in games with a visual reference!
