I am still cranking away on my large collection of Axis and Allies airplanes. I took a bit of a rest, as I was out of town for a while, but it is time to get back on the bicycle. The next batch of planes I decided to focus on are winter camo support for my various snow troops.

I started this batch with a pair of Soviet P-40 Warhawks. I happened to find a pair of these cheap on eBay and decided to add them to the pile. The models are actually gray and green. I figured I need some mid to late war support and the price was right!

I just pulled out some white paint and went over all the gray areas. I tied for a blotchy white wash effect. I then hit the green areas again with a lighter shade of green. I bit of a black pin wash on the control surfaces to make them stand out. I then brightened up the stars with some red paint and added black details. Next came the blue on the canopy glass with contrast paints. Next, I added some decals

I did a sealer paint with some Testors mat finish, that is really satin. Once that dried, I went back over the glass with gloss paint. I finished up by adding some magnets to the bottom and the planes are set for the tabletop.
