I am on the minor allied zone of aircraft at this point. I had purchased an IAR-80 and did some basic pimping in the early V4 days. Now that I am cleaning up all the air support, I needed a second plane to fill out the set. I got one on eBay for cheap and needed to get them both to the same standard.

One of the challenges on these planes is that they are not always painted to the same standard. This is particularly true of the washes. In this case, I did not have that problem. I did hit the bottoms with a wet brush of light gray to get rid of the blotching from the wash. I also did the same on the green on the upper surface. I brightened up the red and blue and added black where it was needed. The hardest part was the yellow. This needed to be totally redone. It took some effort to get coverage. In the process, I wiped out the shading and had to go back and do some pin washes (maybe a little heavier than I intended). Next was the canopy with contrast blue and green on the caging.

Next was the usual Krylon matt finish spray that gives a satin finish. Once that dried over night, I went back and hit the cockpit glass with gloss coat. With that, the Romanians now have their air support!
