Next up on the never ending tray of airplanes are some more Brewster Buffaloes. These models are done pretty well, so I did not expect to much of a job……

I started by wet brushing the bottoms with a light gray, as the existing color was very blotchy. I then hit the upper dark green sections with a wet brush also. I used the opportunity to paint out the existing roundels (which were post German allies versions) and clean up the cage work on the canopy. Next was some pin washing on the control surfaces. I then hit the black areas around the engine and spinner. The next part was a bit more challenging. The yellow on the exiting model was not done well and needed better coverage. I went over this with some yellow. Unfortunately, none of the yellows I have cover worth a darn, so this took a number of swipes to get to the level I was satisfied with!

The next stage was decals. I found some online and got these for the two planes. This gave me the correct roundels and the other markings on the planes. Some water and then Solvaset and these were in place.

I wrapped up with a Krylon matt varnish to get a satin finish and finished up by painting the glass panels with gloss coat. The canopy on this one was as tricky as the Aussie ones. Not hard, just had to take my time. That takes care of the Finns!
