While scoping out for more Axis and Allies planes, I saw there were some Fairey Fulmars available. I had no idea they made this plane. Well, I had to have them! So I picked them up for the collection to support by Commandos during early and mid war.

These were done particularly well I thought. They had virtually no blotching (at least on top), so I skipped the wet brushing. I went straight to the details. I hit the vents and spinner with black. I then brighten up all the red and blue on the markings. I did the same thing with the white. In this case, I had to “adjust” the plane id from six to eight on one of the planes. I added some brown to the exhaust.

Then it was time for the hard part, pitting the cock pit. This was another model with a lot of cage work, so it was time consuming. Since I did not want to mess up the base colors, I had to be very careful. I managed that! Some mat spray and gloss on the glass panels (again, being very careful). With that, my Commandos will have the air support they deserve.
