So, I had finally finished all the Free French miniatures for my FOW army. However, I realized that I was short one tank for my 2iC. I decided to fill the game last week and picked up a box of M4A2 Shermans (Soviet Shermans from Battlefront). The French 1st Armored had these and I did not!

I could have just found a single Sherman for my 2iC tank, but me being me, I had to get more… This would allow me to add a section of Sherman 105s and a Sherman AOP. Since they were on sale, that made the decision easier!

I also decided that I wanted to switch out some of the straight M4s from my company for the M4A2s. The way I would do this is switch out the turrets from a few tanks to the company for M4 hulls for the support tanks.

For the AOP, I just grabbed one of the M4s and added the artillery unit marking (red square) and use the later turret with an AOP decal. The 2iC was just a straight M4A2 with some decals from my stash.

The self propelled 105 turrets were assembled from the new set. I added these to three M4 hulls and that took care of that. Now the backfill was a little tricky. The turrets had the name first letter on each and I needed to match the letter with a new name. I went through my stash and found some matching names and applied them and that took care of that.

The painting of the new tanks followed the original project. I sprayed them Krylon green on top and brown on the bottom, I added Vallejo mud to the bottom, then hit everything with a black wash. I then wet brushed the olive green on top and painted the tools, followed by some gloss paint to the areas where decals would go. I then added the decals and drybrushed the brown mud and then the sand overall. Everything was finished up with some matt sealer from Tamiya. With that I am actually done with them army! Well, for now at least…..
