I had picked up this same set when I first got into Legion some years back. It’s not Star Wars if you do not have moister evaporators! So, it was a natural buy to help me get started with my terrain. When I purchased it, I did not even realize it came with more missions and objectives, so bonus points! With all t that, I think this is a must buy.
Well, during the last May 4th sale (May the forth be with you), I saw a set selling for half off. I could not pass that price up, so ordered it to get more terrain (you can never have enough moister evaporators!).
I painted up my original set using gray for the evaporator and the boxes. This time, I thought I would shake things up a bit and go with white (seems to be the more prevalent color on desert planets…) for the evaporators and a bright blue for the boxes (I need more color variation in my boxes).
I started with a white primer coat on everything. For the boxes, I followed with a blue contrast covering. This was the followed by a magic blue wet brush and some light blue edge highlighting. For the evaporators, I covered hem with GW white contrast color. Once this dried, I hit all the units with a heavy white drybrush. I then hit the control panels with some GW contrast black and finished by adding some red, blue and green to the various switches and lights. I closed out with some Krylon matt varnish. A nice silver power handle finished off the work.
A couple hours worth of work and I have another terrain set ready for the tabletop!
