Trolls Under the Bridge Epic Scale Necron Monolith

Posted on February 6, 2022

While surfing the internet, I saw the Trolls Under the Bridge had released some new (newish?) Necron Monolith models. I thought these would be nice for my existing Epic Neuron Army, so I ordered three of them. They arrived after about ten days in good order, ready to go.

The kits are packed in separate card board boxes. The model comes with two resin halves (an upper and a lower), two weapon sprues in lead and a clear plastic cap for the top. They also dome with a base and metal mounting rod (I did not like these, so left them off). All parts are mostly flash free and nice detailed. The etching on the resin is particularly well done, with Necron text on all sides.

I cleaned off the flash on the various parts and assembled the kits using super glue. I left the clear plastic off at this point, as the top needed to be painted. I then sprayed them with silver spray paint to set the base color. Once that dried, I hit the models with GW black wash and let that dry. Next was a plaint silver dry brush over the entire kit. That took care of the base model, but I wanted to add some character. So, first I hit all the weapons and vents with GW contrast back and then highlighted these areas with grey. I then hit the top crystals with some green and highlighted that with a lighter shade of green. I hit the entire model with some Krylon semi gloss spray paint

With the painting done, I attached the top plastic cap with white glue (super glue would fog up the plastic). With that, I have three Monoliths for my Necrons and nightly nice kits they are. Thus us a very nice kit and a great add to any epic scale Necron army.
